In last February’s Tax Bulletin, we advised you that the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and Revenu Québec (QRA) were granting administrative tolerance to nominee corporations and other agents acting on behalf of owners or co-owners of commercial real estate.

Originally, QRA intended to assess a substantial number of nominee corporations acting on behalf of such owners or co-owners, on the grounds that such corporations failed to meet the requirements for making a joint venture election for GST/HST and QST purposes.
