Did Black Friday help retailers? According to our weekly Richter Retail survey, last week’s results (which include Black Friday) continued to show positive comparable sales increases for retailers, year over year; namely 5% this week, jumping off 7% increases in both 2015 and 2014.
In all three years, the preceding week showed lower results suggesting that customers prefer to wait for Black Friday specials before making their purchases. See our Black Friday Richter Retail survey results and subscribe to our weekly publication here.
