From the moment I stepped into Richter’s office I immediately felt like I was a member of the team. I cannot believe how quickly these 12 weeks flew by! The first two weeks of training were a great way to get all of us summer interns involved in Richter’s practices, and were an easy way to quickly get to know each other. The two weeks were a great learning experience as we were able to learn from the presentations given and from one another. After the training period, we were separated and placed either on mandates or scattered throughout the firm’s many departments. Richter’s internship is a unique experience in comparison to other firms as the interns do not only receive audit exposure, but also have the opportunity to learn first-hand from other knowledgeable professionals in departments throughout the entity. Richter allows each intern to work directly with extremely experienced individuals who are there to guide them throughout the entire process and to answer any question they might have along the way. The interns are given the opportunity to directly meet with clients, which helps teach interpersonal skills and demonstrate the responsibilities of an auditor. I would recommend Richter to any accounting student who wants to get the most exposure to the business world as possible, and also enjoys working for the best team in the city!
