Community Day 2016

Giving back to the community has always been a central focus at Richter – it’s not just in our mandate, it’s who we are. Throughout the years our community involvement has grown substantially and as a team we are proud of the impact we have created.

Richter Community Day 2016

This year, Richter’s 500-person team spent the day volunteering for some very worthy causes in both Toronto and Montréal. Whether it was helping combat local hunger, building health and safety kits, or beautifying and cleaning our neighborhoods and communities, each team member worked extremely hard – and that made for quite the impact!

Just how much of any impact?

In Toronto, our team spent the day with three local organizations: Toronto Green Community, the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT), and the Daily Bread Food Bank. We’re grateful to these organizations for hosting us and allowing us to help out. In just one day, we were able to tackle the tasks head on, and the results?

Total team hours volunteered: ~500
Pounds of food items sorted: 13,317
Bags of health kits sorted and stuffed: 6400
Trees planted in the park: 86… + a canoe full of flowers!

In Montréal, our efforts focused on the community of Little Burgundy, a neighborhood located in the South West of Montréal. During the day, we partnered with a dozen different organizations to help them in their mission to the community. We painted walls, refurbished furniture, cleaned, prepared meals and served them, organized and managed donations, gardened and gave business advice to local entrepreneurs. Overall, the Montréal team volunteered over 1,600 hours in one day!

A huge thank you to all of our team members and sponsors that worked so hard for such great causes! Click here for a sampling of the Toronto Richter team in action. Click here for a sampling of the Montreal Richter team in action.
